Has the 9900/9930 bricking problems been fixed? Can't seem to find an official statement of the fix from RIM

ok, this review is good but missing 1 HUGE item. The 9900 is a good device, but it does not have Auto-Focus in the camera which is a major down fall when trying to take a photo of text or serial number info. The 9790 has autofocus. to save me time I really need an autfocusing camera in my phone. other than that, the 9900 would have been great for me
This is a very detailed and great comparason. Thank you!
Although I currently own the Bold 9700 I would be more interested in buying  the 9900 through contract in the future than the 9790 although the former would be more expensive because I would be looking for qualities like: a higher processor speed, bigger screen, faster down-load speeds and HD camera. I am a guy
The review is not accurate. I am 9790 user myself and these are the discrepancies: 1. 9790 has NFC (you can check it in the rim website) 2. 9790 has a compass as well I am using it 3.It is wi-fi enables as well and can detect wifi hot spots I feel 9790 is low cost bold with all the key features of bold sans the bigger screen, processor capacity, HD video recording, better screen resolution, and slightly bigger keyboard. The key features remain same as the OS of both devices is same (OS 7). But, at the same time is it light weight and handy w.r.t bold and can easily fit into your pocket. Also it's cost is lesser than 9900 (approx 6k). I feel it is good for girls as it handy and light weight and easily fits into your jeans pocket and gives you all the key features of 9900. Boys too can use it but may not be comfortable with the key board as most of them have bigger fingers.
Thanks very much for the detailed comparison...
