I've been a Droid 3 owner for a long time. I personally loved that phone. However, I might go ahead and recommend the X2 because the Droid 3 has been known to have electrical problems with faulty cables between the keyboard and the rest of the phone. That is what happened to mine and I can't get it to work. Plus, I would imagine it is easier to find accessories for the X2
